Crescent Falls Aurora | Bighorn River, Alberta

'Crescent Falls Aurora' is one of those nights I’ll never forget. I watched the river tumble over the rocky ledges at my feet while the main drop of Crescent Falls thundered in the distance. The aurora forecast was strong and not long after the light had faded, the northern lights came to life, sending soft bands of red, pink, and green across the sky above the canyon and trees.

This photograph is my attempt to bottle that feeling of standing there in the dark—surrounded by moving water, echoing cliffs, and a sky that put on one of the greatest shows I've ever seen.
