Reader's Digest 'Our Canada' Magazine

Cover Image and photo essay, February/March, 2021

Maryanne Gallagher, Executive Editor of Reader's Digest 'Our Canada' magazine contacted me during the fall of 2020 with a request to submit a photo essay and some winter imagery. To say that I was honoured would be an understatement!

The project was fun to put together, and turned out beautifully as a six page spread inside the magazine to highlight winter photography in Canada.

My essay started with a two-page spread featuring my image 'Moonlight Sonata', a midnight portrait of the famous Mount Chephren located near the Icefields Parkway in the beautiful Canadian Rockies.
Sunrise images of a beautiful Ukrainian church south of Saskatoon, SK and the mighty Castle Mountain in Banff National Park.
Clockwise from top left are 'Freebird' on the Bow River at Castle Mountain; 'Halo' near the Crowsnest Pass in southern Alberta, and 'Winter Wonderland' at Policeman's Creek in Canmore, Alberta in front of the famous Three Sisters mountain peaks.

I thoroughly enjoyed contributing again to 'Our Canada' magazine and look forward to more collaboration in the future!
